Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been earned on hard courts
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev claimed his first championship for over two years with victory over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.
The athlete, a former world number one, has had a challenging period, achieving just a single victory at the Grand Slams and undergoing a meltdown at the US Open.
His unpredictability on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serve in particular - led to him falling of the top ten and finally separating with long-time mentor Gilles Cervara.
Now training with his coach and his other coach, the tennis star has steadily advanced in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought three-set win over opponent Moutet.
This marks his initial trophy since the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt since that period of that year.
The win also means the Russian has won twenty-one championships at twenty-one various competitions.
"For the first time I have attended a tournament with my two daughters at once, so to secure a title is especially meaningful," stated tennis professional the champion.
"This victory is in dedication of my second daughter her name, because the first title I got when my child my daughter was born was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had been defeated in his past six title deciders, featuring in Halle in the past months.
The player's defensive approach and regular emotional displays on court had led observers to doubt if his capacity to perform at the highest level was concluded.
But the athlete has made changes in the past month, making an effort to advance forward and compete positively, supported by an improved serving game.
Medvedev came back from a disadvantage in the first set against the challenging Frenchman, winning four of the last five points to gain the advantage.
The pair swapped break points in the second set before Moutet, striving for his first tour championship, seized the initiative to force a decider.
Moutet rescued 4 early-game break points in a tight final set before the champion broke to that score to serve for the match.
Fittingly, he clinched the win with a shot at the front of the court, with Moutet failing to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
