Automobiles in Germany's Town Found Covered with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Police mentioned they were alerted by a man who found a automobile in Hanau marked with red-colored liquid

Approximately fifty vehicles have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to authorities.

Vehicles, walls and postal boxes were defaced, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they stated in a statement.

Law enforcement say they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a man noticed that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored liquid.

The substance had been applied in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they stated.

Law enforcement then discovered numerous other vandalized cars and house walls in the surrounding area.

Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under regulations banning the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.

Police report early analysis suggest the fluid was likely human bodily fluid.

"There is still no lead as to its origin; authorities are not yet aware of any injuries in relation with the occurrence," they stated.

City officials said they were working "to solve the mystery" and have asked to the community for tips.

A high-ranking representative said the attack rendered him without words and had to be solved promptly.

"This incident affects the center of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the far-right attack in 2020," he wrote on online, recalling the murder of nine victims by a assailant targeting individuals of migrant background in 2020.
